Summary of focus group
this summary has helped me get more ideas of what my target audience want. as i have focused on people in my target audience i know what will make my product more effective. for example Luke talks about the use of props as being an important factor of a horror movie trailer. such as using an ax will make the trailer more effective for the audience. from this i know that a good story line will be required to produce an effective product of this genre. the story needs to grab the audiences attention and give a sense of fear, to encourage people to watch the movie. From this i have also taken into consideration of what setting would be effective for this trailer. usually a rural area will make a trailer more effective, such as a Forrest or an abandoned building. An area with dark open spaces will give a sense of fear, suggesting the antagonist is going to jump out at you which will keep the audience on the edge of their seat. this is another important factor of my product, which was suggested by my focus group. from gaining information from my focus group i can conclude that the slasher theme of horror is the most popular for my target audience. my target audience think that the slasher is most effective as the sense of a domonent character can create the most fear, and make the story more realistic for the audience.
MY AUDIENCE INTERVIEWS
from this interview i have had some primary research on what will make my product more successful. on the first interview i found out that my target audience much prefere the slasher theme . such as movies like friday the 13th, and scream. my interviewee also said that a if the trailer will make you jump then it gives a good imporession on the film. in the second interview, my interviewee said that the slasher theme of horror is effective because a domonent character keeps the audience on the edge of the seet. it also makes the experience more realistic for the audience which is important when making a horror movie.
